Mackey William R. Mackey, 77, of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, died Wednesday, July 26, 2000, at his home. A native of Arkadelphia, Ark., and a resident of Hattiesburg for the past 23 years, he was a retired supervisor with Gulf Oil with 36 years of service. He was a veteran of the United States Navy having served during World War II. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hattiesburg. Services were held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, July 29, at Moore Funeral Home Chapel in Hattiesburg. Interment followed in the Highland Cemetery in Hattiesburg under direction of Moore Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Aline Mackey of Hattiesburg; three sons, Robert Mackey of Houston, Tx., David Mackey of Leeds, Ala., and Fred Mackey of Kingswood, Texas; a daughter, Barbara Hahn of Hattiesburg; two sisters, Cornelia Francis and Virginia Noel, both of Jena; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
