headline: Urania Man is Laid to Rest

Funeral services for John R. McBroom, 95, who died Tuesday were held today 
(Thursday) at 4 p.m.

The Rev. E. D. Dearman officiated in Pine Hill Baptist church and burial 
under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia followed in the 
Pine Hill Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Will McBroom of Des Allemands and Johnny R. 
McBroom of Urania; two daughters, Mrs. M.W. Fife of Tullos, and Mrs. Prevos 
Craighead of Monroe; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Davis of Olla, and Mrs. J. M. 
Powell of Kelly; 10 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and two 
great-great-grandchildren.
