The accident occurred at 10:30 a.m., at Urania Lumber Co. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Saturday, at Pinehill Cemetery, with the Rev. McDaniel administering last rites. Mr McBroom was born in Standard, Sept 22, 1922. He is survivied by the widow, Mrs Ruby Lee Offrett McBroom; two daughters, Patricia Ann and Mary Elizabeth; one son; his parents, Mr and Mrs Monroe McBroom of Shreveport, and four brothers, CM McBroom of Monroe, Junior and Billie McBroom and Yancey Zeagler of Shreveport. Interment was in Pinehill Cemetery under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena.
