McConathy Buried at Winnfield Thursday April 28 Sub-headline: Funeral Services Conducted by Rev E. J. Phares Ben D. McConathy, aged 63 years, former resident of Atlanta, La., but who had resided in Jena for the past eight years, died at his home near here at 6:15 pm Wednesday, April 27, of a heart attack. Funeral services were held at Winnfield Thursday by Rev E. J. Phares, pastor of the Good Pine and Atlanta Baptist churches. Interment was in Winnfield Cemetery. During his years of residence here Mr McConathy and his family have accumulated a large circle of friends who deeply regret the untimely passing of the deceased. Besides his widow, Mrs Mattie ?hite McConathy, he is survived by the following: Mrs Bettie ??ne,sister, Ruston; Mr Jim Buck McConathy, brother, Arcadia; Mrs ?uick, of Quitman, and another sister at Quitman; three daughters, Mrs Bertha Lee Billings and Mrs ? C. Albright, Good Pine, and Miss ?essie McConathy, Jena; one son, ? M. McConathy, of Jena. Mr McConathy was a member of the Baptist Church.
