He was a sawmill laborer and member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2 pm at Pine Hill Baptist Church with Revs. B. G. Dyes and A. B. Conner, officiating. Burial was in the Pine Hill Cemetery of Urania under arrangements by Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Edna Roberts McBroom of Urania; three daughters, Mrs. Oreatric Mortz of Tioga, Mrs. Peggy Oden of Urania and Mrs. Mary Crain of Tioga; two sons, Harman McBroom of Urania and William H. McBroom of Georgetown; four brothers, Pat McBroom of Zenoria, Henry McBroom of Urania, Ervin McBroom of Monroe, and Esbon McBroom of Baytown, Texas; three sisters, Mrs. Zonia Boyd, Mrs. Maude Hampton and Miss Ella McBroom, all of Monroe; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
