McBride is Laid to Rest in Jena on Saturday Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Jena at 10 am, Saturday for Miss Mamie McBride, 23, who died at Greenwell Springs, Louisiana, Friday morning at 12;30 o'clock. Interment followed in the Nolly Memorial Cemetery with Rev. L. D. Posey and Rev. B. T. Goodwin officiating. The funeral arrangements were under the direction of Kinner and Stevens, local undertakers. Miss McBride had been in ill health for some time and while her death was not unexpected, it comes as a distinct shock to her many friends and relatives throughout this section. She was a young lady of sterling qualities and easily made friends with those she came in contact with. She was a devout member of the First Baptist Church and took an active interest in the Sunday School and Young People's organization. She is survived by her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Fred McBride; one sister, Alice, of New Orleans; one brother, Fred, of Jena, and her grandfather, S. B. Hanes.
