She was a homemaker. Services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, Dec. 27, in the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Denver McBroom and Carroll Bradford officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery in the Mt. Sinai Community under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc., of Jena. Survivors include her husband, Wayne "Snuffy" McCartney of Jonesville; three daughters, Shellie Furr and Georgiana Harris, both of Brookhaven, and Dink Stevenson of Boyce; three sisters, Georgia Myers, Judy Case, and Betty Johnson, all of Brookhaven; one brother, Jerry Ables of Brookhaven; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jim Zeagler, Johnny Reeves, David Monk, Les Case, Cory Myers, and James McCartney.
