McGee, 70, of Bienville, died Saturday morning, January 8, 2000, at LaSalle General Hospital in Jena, from heart failure following a recent heart attack. He was a retired businessman and entrepreneur who lived most of his life in Jena, where he operated various businesses serving LaSalle Parish, including most recently the Sears Catalog Store, formerly on First Street in Jena. Upon their retirement in 1993, he and his wife moved to Columbia, where they were well known by local fishermen and hunters. They established residence in Bienville in 1999. The family will hold a private memorial service. Survivors include his wife, Rose Newburg McGee of Bienville; two daughters, Griselda Coleman of Pineville and Damon Ogle of Lake Charles; two sons, Dana McGee of Jena and Reno McGee of Bedminster, New Jersey; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
