He was a pipeline foreman with Southern Gas Line for 42 years. He was born January 18, 1905, at Kelly to the union of Hugh and Rebecca Norman McDaniel. Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, January 22, from the chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with the Revs. W. A. Massey and Randy Douglas officiating. Interment followed in the Adams Cemetery at Kelly under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Survivors include his wife, Helen McDaniel of Kelly; one daughter, Patricia Childress of Calhoun; one sister, Vernice Curry of West Monroe; three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
