He was 63 years of age, a farmer and a member of the Baptist Church. Funeral services were held Monday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. at the Utility Baptist Church with the Revs. J. O. McNair and Walter Barnard officiating. Burial was in Galvin Creek Cemetery near Whitehall. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Lodie McClure; two daughters, Mrs. Melvin Humble of Manifest and Mrs. Sonny Manning of Jonesville; nine brothers, Ed McClure of Jena, Bill McClure of Jena, Dutch McClure, Juan McClure, Bud McClure, and Douglas McClure, all of Jonesville, Fred McClure of Vidalia, Sam McClure in the U. S. Army and Abner McClure in the U. S. Air Force; eight sisters, Mrs. Rose Young and Mrs. Lorina Wilson, both of Jonesville, Mrs. Billie Ensminger of Wisner, Mrs. Doyle Lott of Zenoria, Mrs. Billie Bell of Columbia, Miss., Mrs. Dan Barton of Marthaville, Mrs. Bob Butler of Paduka, Ky., and Mrs. Larry Miller of Zachery; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
