Leslie McCartney Rev. John Leslie McCartney, 78, of Trout, died at 11:45 p.m., Saturday, March 4, 2000, in Glenwood Regional Medical Center in West Monroe. He was a retired Baptist Minister, having pastored several churches in the area. Services were held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 6, at Mt. Sinai Baptist Church in the Mt. Sinai community with the Revs. Ed Smith and Don Wright officiating. Interment followed in the Mt. Sinai Cemetery under arrangements by Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn Blount McCartney of Mt. Sinai; two daughters, Diane Head and Mary Nell Robinson, both of Trout; three sons, Gary L. McCartney of Trout, Roger Dale McCartney of Tullos and Roy Rodney McCartney of West Monroe; one sister, Alice Miles of Jacksonville, Tx.; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Jacob McCartney, John McCartney, Melvin Head, Bobby Head, Homer Head, and Wesley Pruitt. Honorary pallbearers were Chas McCartney, Tim McCartney, L. G. Cruse, and Randy Grant.
