From The Jena Times - Olla Tullos Signal Date: Wednesday, November 14, 2001 Page 17A Mary Lee Corley McDonald Mary Lee Corley McDonald, 82, of Baskin, died on Thursday, October 8, 2001, after a lengthy illness. She was born April 29, 1919 in Grant Parish, near Pollock, to the union of Oliver Larkin and Ellen Paul Corley. She was married to S. T. McDonald, Sr., on March 5, 1935. The couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary earlier this year. She was floor manager for the TG&Y store in Winnsboro for 21 years and was a member of the Baskin Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School. Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 10, at Baskin Baptist Church with the Revs. Buford Brady and Paul Kolb officiating. Interment followed in Reagan Cemetery of Baskin under direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro. Survivors include her husband, S. T. McDonald, Sr. of Baskin; one daughter, Elaine McDonald Wiltshire of Winnsboro; three sons, Charles McDonald and S. T. McDonald, Jr., both of Winnsboro, William Earl McDonald of San Diego, Ca.; two sisters, Onedra Corley Swearengin and Lottie Mae Corley Owers, both of Pollock; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Charles McDonald, George Ivan Swearengin, Frank M. Reese, Allen barber, Danny barber, and Eugen Parker. Honorary pallbearers were Marshall McDonald, Leanard Earl Gurganus and Steve Carroll.
