Headline: Mrs. Ruby U. McCarthy

Mrs. Ruby U. McCarthy, 67, of Jena, died at 9;15 p.m. Thursday, January 1, 
1987, at the LaSalle General Hospital.

She was a housewife.

Services were held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Chapel of Hixson Brothers 
Funeral Home in Jena with Rev. Claude Terral and Rev. A. B. Masters, 
officiating.

Burial followed in Heard Cemetery with arrangements by Hixson Brothers Inc. 
of Jena.

Survivors include her husband, John A. McCarthy of Jena; three sons, George 
McCarthy of Clut, Texas, Johnnie McCarthy of El Paso, Texas, and Alvin Ray 
McCarthy of Dallas, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Irma McCarthy of Laurel, Miss., 
and Mrs. Gussie Hester of Houston, Texas; 9 grandchildren, and 5 
great-grandchildren. 

Pallbearers were Mark McCarthy, Robert McCarthy, Eddie McCarthy, Donnie 
McCarthy, Mike McCarthy, Stevie McCarthy and Billy Wayne McCarthy.
