George McVey Fatally Gored Monday Funeral services were held at 3 p.m., August 18, in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery at Pleasant Grove for the Rev. George A. McVey, evangelist, who died of injuries received Monday, when he was gored by a steer. The Rev. died at the Baptist Hospital in Alexandria. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mittie Bell McVey, four sons, Luke of Montgomery, Wayne of Sims, C. A. and Herman, both of Pineville; five daughters, Mrs. Otis Gamar of Montgomery, Mrs. S. J. Daniels, Alexandria, Mrs. Noel Bond of Pineville, Mrs. Roy Gillory and Miss Zarella McVey, both of Alexandria, and one sister, Mrs. Jim Witteny of Pineville. The funeral was under the direction of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home.
