A retired beautician and homemaker, she was born on May 10, 1927, at Nashville, Tn., to the union of her late parents, Kenneth Ray and Hattie Mae Williams Whitley. She was an active member of the Pine Hill Baptist Church of Urania, and was a fine Christian lady that was loved by all who knew her. Services were held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 16, at Pine Hill Baptist Church of Urania with the Revs. Ron Bray, Harold Danley, George Ferrington and Ed Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Hill Cemetery of Urania under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Olla. Survivors include one son, Michael (Mike) R. McCartney of Olla; one daughter, Karen McCartney of Olla; two sisters, Nancy McCartney of Jena and Helen Morrison of Nashville, Tn.; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were Larry McCartney, Bo McCartney, Joe McCartney, Darrel McCartney, Matt Copeland, and Terry Copeland.
