L. "Jack" Norris, 82, of Trout, died at 5:50 p.m., Friday, January 7, 2000, at Christus St. Frances Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria. He was a carpenter and member of United Brotherhood of Carpenters No. 0764. He was also a deacon and member of Fellowship Baptist Church in the Belah Community. He was born October 2, 1917, at Rogers to the union of George and Willie Mae Corley Norris. Services were held at 1 p.m., Sunday, January 9, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena with the Revs. Randy Ray and Willard Norris officiating. Interment followed in the Magnolia Cemetery of Nebo under direction of Kinner and Stevens Inc. of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Mattie Hanner Norris of Trout; three brothers, Rev. Jessie Norris of Pineville, Glen Norris and Rev. Willard Norris, both of Rogers; one grandchild and three great-grandchildren.
