Headline:  Area Deaths

Lois M. Newsom, 84, of Grayson, died Sunday, July 11, 1999, at the Rapides 
Regional Medical Center in Alexandria following an extended illness.  

She was born September 6, 1914, in Winn Parish to the union of John and Flora 
Schumaker Newsom and was a member of the Springhill Baptist Church near 
Kelly.  She was a homemaker.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, July 13, at the chapel of Riser 
Funeral home in Columbia with Rev. J. D. Enterkin officiating.

Interment followed in the Hebron Cemetery west of Grayson under direction of 
Riser Funeral Home, Inc., of Columbia.

Survivors include two brothers, Wilbur Newsom of Pineville and Paul Newsom of 
Tullos; two sisters, Odelia McCollum of Grayson and Lucille Taylor of 
Pineville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
