She was a homemaker and member of Midway Baptist Church. She was born August 13, 1925, at Marion to the union of Noble and Little Holley Bunyard. "Miss Gene" devoted her life to others by serving as the pastors' wife. Rev. and Mrs. Nolan served as pastor for several Baptist churches throughout central and north Louisiana for the past 46 years. Services were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 12, at Midway Baptist Church near Jena with Rev. Rick Feazell officiating. Graveside services and interment followed at 2:30 p.m., Tuesday, at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery near Farmerville, under direction of Kinn er and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Rev. G. R. "Pete" Nolan of Jena; two daughters, Nelda Allen of West Monroe and Janet Smith of Sulphur; one son, Ken Nolan of Jena; eight grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Scott Smith, Brian Smith, Chad Smith, Kase Smith, Gary Lemons, and Rodney Holloway.
