She was born June 29, 1852. She was married the first time to Mr. B. G. Gilliam and to this union two girls and one boy were born. Her second marriage was to Mr. Joe Owens about 44 years ago and to this union two girls and two boys were born. Both husbands and one child preceded her to the other world. At the age of 35, she joined the M. E. Church, but in later years she transferred her membership to the M. P. Church to which she remained a faithful member the remainder of her life. Interment was made in the Spring Hill Cemetery, leaving six children, twenty-nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren to mourn her death. The children are: Bob and Charley Owens and Oscar Gilliam, all of Jena; Mrs. Josie White of Zenoria; Mrs. Ida Willis, of Chester, and Mrs. Clara Schrader, of Urania.
