Headline:  Florence Pearl Purkel

Funeral services for Mrs. Florence Pearl Purkel, 62, of Olla, who died of 
heart disease at the LaSalle Clinic April 8 at 2 a.m., were held April 9 at 2 
p.m. at Lincecum, La., with Rev. Casey Crain of Winn Parish officiating.  
Interment took place at the Lincecum Cemetery under the direction of Riser 
and Upshaw Funeral Home of Olla.

Surviving are, J. W. Purkel, husband, of Olla; Henry Purkel of Olla, son; 
Irene Smith of Olla, daughter; Flora Taylor of Olla, sister; John Fox of 
Columbia, brother.

The deceased came here from her birthplace, Saginaw, Mich., about fifty years 
ago.  She has resided in LaSalle Parish since that time.  She was a member of 
the Tullos Baptist church.
