Headline:  John W. Proffer

The last rites for John W. Proffer were held February 23 at the Old Jordon 
Cemetery near Aimwell with the Rev. Jesse Allbritton of Midway officiating.  
Mr. Proffer died at Pineville, La., on February 21, 9:30, p.m.

Mr. Proffer was a native of Missouri having moved to this community about 4 
years ago, was a member of the Baptist Church.

Those surviving him are two sons, Theodore Proffer, Marshall, Tex.; Winfred 
Proffer, Olla, La., four daughters, Mrs. Jessie Weams, Aimwell; Mrs. Jeddie 
Guinn, Jena, La.;  Mrs. Violet Dunn, Jena, La.; Mrs. Jewell Cotton, Trout, 
La.

Funeral arrangements were in charge of Riser and Upshaw Funeral Home of Jena.
