HEADLINE: Area Deaths

SUB-HEADLINE: Mellonee G. Powell

Mellonee C. Powell, 83, of Jena, died at 1:05 a.m., Wednesday, October 18,
2000, in LaSalle General Hospital of Jena.

She was a homemaker and a member of Temple Baptist Church.

Services were held at 1 p.m., Friday Oct. 20, at Temple Baptist Church of Jena
with the Revs. Jimmy Keene and Johnnie Phillips officiating.

Interment followed in the Jena cemetery under direction of Hixson Brothers
Funeral Home of Jena.

Survivors include one daughter, Doris Gray of Jena; one son Maurice Powell of
West Monroe; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Powell on May 10, 1938, Book G, page 158 # 234 ******
