Sub-Headline: Virginia M. Prestridge

Virginia M. "Happy" Prestridge, of Shreveport, died on her 103rd birthday, 
September 14, 1000, at Christus Schumpert-Highland Hospital in Shreveport.

Vergie May Mahaffey Prestridge was born September 14, 1897, in Harrisville, 
Mississippi, to her parents, Robert and Rose Mahaffey.

She grew up near Mendenhall, graduating from Simpson County Agricultural High 
School.  She had resided in Shreveport since 1974.

Graveside services were conducted at the Olla Cemetery in Olla on Saturday, 
September 16, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Milton Wilson officiating.

Interment was under direction of Hill Crest Funeral Home of Shreveport. 

She is survived by three grandchildren, including Mavis Richardel of Tullos; 
eight great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
