Rooney Held April 30 At Beech Creek Funeral services were held April 30, 1945 at 3 p.m., at the residence for Mr. George H. Rooney, 67, who died of heart trouble at his home in Urania on April 28 at 1:20 o'clock. Burial was in the Beech Creek cemetery in Winn parish with Rev. Atwood officiating. Mr. Rooney was born in Rhode Island April 28, 1878, coming to this community about 40 years ago. He was a member of the Catholic Church. Survivors include: four daughters, Mrs. Katherine Melvin, Shreveport, Mrs. G. Douglas, Houston, Tex., Miss Grace Rooney, both of Shreveport; five sons, Lawrence of Urania, George, of the U.S. Army, Guthrie of California; Tom of Houston, Tex. And Cecil, of the U.S. Air Force. Kinner & Stevens home For Funerals was in charge of arrangements.
