REED Is held at Belah On January 3, news reached here that Charley Reed, a former resident of Trout, had accidently been shot, and that the body was being shipped home. A gloom seemed to settle upon the friends of this family and not any could get away from that sadness, because of the regard for him and the sympathy for those he had left behind. Charley spent the best years of his life at Trout, in the employment of saw filer, for the Trout Creek Lbr. Co. Here lifelong friendships were formed; here Lizzie and Charlie were married; here J. Kay, their only child, was born. Because of these ties and because it was Charlie's plan to come back to LaSalle Parish to make his home, his body was brought back home for burial. Lizzie, J. Kay, and his brother, John, arrived in Trout with the body Wednesday, January 13th, at one o'clock. (PS: There was a second column of the obituary, but I was only furnished the above. You can call the LaSalle Parish LA library for assistance in obtaining a copy of this newspaper)
