Redd, 74, of Newellton, died Tuesday, December 14, 1999, in Tallulah. He was a native of Harrisonburg and a veteran of World War II serving with the 85th Mountain Division in Italy. He was retired from Southeastern Drilling Company of Dallas, Tx. as an oilfield mechanic with 35 years of service. Services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, December 16, in the chapel of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday with the Revs. Fulton McGraw and Hugh Boswell officiating. Interment followed in Legion Memorial Cemetery of Newellton under direction of Comer Funeral Home of Ferriday. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Martin Redd of Newellton; one son, Kenneth Redd of Jena; three daughters, Brenda Finch of Oklahoma City, Okla., Mary Redd of Tyler, Tx., and Pat Dobbs of Jena; two sisters, Vondell Magee and Elaine Benish, both of Tallulah; two brothers, Ralph Redd of Newellton and Odell Redd of Heber Springs, Ark.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Ray Watts, Al Watts, Mike Magee, Tommy Redd, Charles Tullos, and Bryan Ashley.
