Randall of Manifest and Two Grandchildren Die in Accident in Baton Rouge W. H. (Cann) Randall of Manifest, age about 65 years, and two of his grandchildren, Kirby Randall, Jr., 3, and Kerry Elizabeth Randall, 8, were killed instantly Monday morning about 8 o'clock in Baton Rouge when Mr. Randall's car was hit by a Baton Rouge city bus. Mr. Randall, a native and lifelong resident of Manifest, and his wife were visiting in Baton Rouge in the home of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kirby Randall, Sr., keeping their grandchildren while the parents were in New York on a business trip. Another grandchild, Douglas, 13, already had gone to school and was not in the car at the time of the accident, it was reported. Dargan Brooks, Jena High School principal and nephew of the dead man, reported that he understood that "Uncle" Cann was taking the girl to school and had the baby in the car with him." Baton Rouge city police, investigating the accident, said the Randall car was hurled some 75 feet by the impact of the collision. The city bus, headed west, collided with the car which was traveling south at the time. No arrests were reported. Police also reported that a passing physician assisted in removing the victims from the wreckage. Mr. Randall's son and father of the two children who were killed, was identified as an executive in the Duncan-Randall Tire company in Baton Rouge. Mrs. Randall, mother of the children, is manager and buyer for several maternity shops and she and her husband were in New York on a buying trip. Mr. Brooks said the father came to Manifest last Thursday to get his parents to go to Baton Rouge and stay with the children while they were in New York. The children killed in the accident are survived by their parents, the older brother, Douglas, and the paternal grandmother, Mrs. W. H. Randall, wife of the senior Mr. Randall who was killed in the accident. Mr. Randall is survived by his wife; three sons, Kirby of Baton Rouge, Silas of Grover, Tex., and G. H. of Ferriday; a brother, Ivy Randall of Manifest; eight sisters, Mrs. Lee Brooks of Sicily Island, Mrs. O. J. Richardson of Manifest, Mrs. Arthur Thomas of Shreveport, Mrs. Charles Elkins of Thibodaux, Mrs. Howard Wright of Jonesville, Mrs. Russell McMillin of Jonesville, Mrs. Ronald Richardson of Manifest and Mrs. Ed Dayton, also of Manifest, and three other grandchildren. Funeral services for the children were held Tuesday afternoon in Baton Rouge, with interment following in a cemetery there.
