He was a former member of the LaSalle Parish Police Jury and LaSalle Parish School Board. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy. Roark was born January 1, 1925, at nickel to the union of Richard and Lena Francis Roark. Services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 2, at the chapel of Kinner and Stevens Funeral home in Jena with the Revs. Ronnie Tarver and Finas Corie officiating. Interment followed in Squires Cemetery near Summerville under direction of Kinner and Stevens Funeral Home of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Doris Yule Roark of Summerville; one daughter, Sherrol Lyn Roark Rosier of Olla; two sisters, Alma Roark Frazier of Shreveport and Falice Roark Becton of Olla; his stepmother, Stella Zeagler Roark of Holum; one half-sister, Elsie Ruth Laskin of Monroe; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Charles Deville, Samuel Roark, Bobby Doughty, Willie Paul, Ben Epling, and Stephen Doughty.
