Ratcliff Last Rites Are Held at Alexandria Church Funeral services for Elbert M. Ratcliff, 42, of 2163 Pope Street, Alexandria, who died Nov. 26, at 6:45 a.m. in Hotel Dieu Hospital after an illness of several weeks, was held in the Chapel of the Williams Funeral Home, Nov. 27. Rev. W. S. Haley, pastor of the Magnolia Avenue Baptist Church was the officiating minister. Burial was in Magnolia Cemetery. Pallbearers were Pat Geory, V. J. Ballard, H. S. McIntosh, Edwin White and J. Burt Sandifer of Beaumont and J. J. Staff of Port Arthur. Mr. Ratcliff had lived in Beaumont for the last 25 years. He was a certified public accountant with the firm of Mazur-Stagg Company of Port Arthur at the time of his death. He formerly was an accountant with the Pennsylvania Ship Yard. Mr. Ratcliff was veteran of World War II, serving with the Air Corps at Keesler Field in Mississippi. He was a member of the Beaumont Legion Post. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Maxine Ratcliff, a daughter, Jackie May, both of Beaumont; father, V. F. Ratcliff of Olla, La.; three sisters, Mrs. Dale Roberts of Beaumont; Mrs. Edwin B. White of Lenoir City, Tenn.; and Mrs. W. R. White of Holum, La.; a brother, H. E. Ratcliff of Baton Rouge; four stepsisters, Mrs. Henry Marringer of Athens; Mrs. R. R. McCarty of Houston, Mrs. Truman Bell of Orange and Mrs. Ray Eubanks of Winnsboro.
