Rasmussen, Former Trout Pastor, Dies in Shreveport Dr. J. J. Rasmussen, Pastor of Noel Memorial Methodist Church at Shreveport, and a former pastor of the Trout Methodist Church, was buried Wednesday afternoon. Dr. Rasmussen died in a Shreveport hospital Tuesday. He was 58 years of age. He was hospitalized last Friday for treatment of a heart condition. He had been in ill health since mid-June of last year and had only returned to his pulpit in January. A native of Vienna, Austria, Dr. Rasmussen came to the United States in 1922 to attend Emory University near Atlanta, Ga. He graduated in 1925, was appointed to the pastorate at Gretna and served successive pastorates at Delhi, Trout, Bunkie, Mansfield, Minden, Ruston and Lake Charles before going to Shreveport in 1951. He is survived by his wife and one son, John J., Jr., a daughter, Elizabeth Anne, all of Shreveport; two brothers and one sister.
