Slack, 78, of Shongaloo died unexpectedly Saturday in homer. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Monday in the Old union Baptist Church with the Rev. Jerrell Moring officiating, assisted by the Rev. H.L. pittman. Burial followed in the White Hall cemetery under the direction of Green- Kleinegger funeral home. Survivors are his widow; four sons, D.D. Slack of Ferriday, R.D. Slack of Jena, Quenton Slack of Odessa, Texas, Ray Slack of Andrews, Texas, five brothers, P.W. Slack of Andrews, Texas, Larry Slack of Shongaloo, Marion Slack, Benn Slack and Carter Slack of Springhill; one sister, Mrs. W. D. Shaw of Shongaloo; nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
