H. Smith Died Friday at Daughter's Home Alexandria, May 7 - Mrs J. W. Smith, aged 73 years, mother of Rev John Henry Smith, former pastor of the Jena Baptist Church in Jena, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs J. P. Myers, in Pineville at 7:40 am Friday, May 6. Funeral services were held at the residence f Mrs Myers at 9 o'clock Saturday morning after which the body was taken to the Pine Grove Cemetery at Ruby on the Bunkie Road, for interment. Deceased is survived by her husband J. W. Smith, five sons and two daughters, T. M. Smith, Reeves, La.; S. L. Smith, Alexandria; Rev John Henry Smith, Franklinton La., D. C. Smith, Bunkie, La., P. A. Smith, Garland, La., Mrs O. M. Corley, Saratoga, Texas, and Mrs Myers of Pineville. She also leaves a brother, Bud Johns, of Dodson, La., and one sister, Mrs May McCarty, of Clarks, La.
