W. Stapleton was called by death at 1:15 pm Wednesday at her home on the Jena R. F. D. after a long illness. The deceased was born in Caldwell Parish, September 16, 1850, and therefore 2 years of age at the time of her death. On August 13, 1880 (hard to read copy) she was married to J. W. Stapleton of this community and they have resided in this section since. Mrs Stapleton had been a christian for 56 years, being a member of the Fellowship Baptist Church, and her kindness endeared her to all she knew. Funeral services were held Thursday evening in the Belah Cemetery. The following survive here: her husband, five sons, and four daughters as follows: Will and J. H. Stapleton of Carey; Lige, Bugs and Ben Stapleton, Jena R.F.D., Mrs John Windham, Trout; Mrs Henry Sanders, Little Creek, Mrs. M. Sanders, Corey; Mrs Albert Windham, Jena R.F.D, 19 grandchildren.
