Mr. L. C. (Dick) Smith, 53, 1816 Lowell St., Eureka, Calif., died enroute to the General hospital in that city at 7:00 am Friday, March 31, 1967. Mr. Smith was a former resident of Urania for many years, where he worked for the Natchez, Urania and Ruston Railroad. At the time of his death, he was employed by the Northwester Pacific Railroad in Eureka. He had been a member, for many years, of the Woodmen of the World at Urania. Services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 7, 1967, at Hixson Brothers Funeral home in Alexandria with the Rev. Everett Mayo of Aimwell and the Rev. David Mayo of Olla officiating. Burial will be with military graveside services. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Bobby P. Smith; one son, L. C. Smith Jr. of Eureka, Calif.; four daughters, Mrs. Lynette Morris of Fort Worth, Texas; Mrs. Shirley Mayo of Jena; and Dale Smith and Charlene Smith, both of Eureka; two brothers, Ellis Smith of Winnfield and Robert Smith of Manchester, NH; two sisters, Mrs. Violet King of Shreveport and Mrs. Donzie Owens of Tyler, Texas; and 12 grandchildren.
