Smith, 27, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Smith of Jena, who died July 31, after a long illness, were held at the pine Grove Church near Rhinehart with Rev. B. A. Miley of Harrisonburg, Rev. B. D. Watson, pastor of the Nolly Memorial Church here, and Rev. Finley Tinnin, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Mr. Smith was well known and had many friends in Jena and surrounding territory, having spent his entire lifetime here. Surviving are: Mrs. Allen Smith, widow; Mr. and Mrs. W. O. Smith, parents; Patsy Ruth Smith, daughter; Drewett Smith, brother; and Marie Morace, sister; all of Jena. Pallbearers were: Tom G. Bradford, Arthur, Clyde, Spencer, Leon, Donnie, Ben, and Oliver Bradford. Interment was made at the Pine Grove Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Upshaw Funeral Home.
