Smith of Jonesville Buried Sunday Funeral services were held Sunday, October 20, at Heard Cemetery, Manifest, for James L. Smith of Jonesville. Mr. Smith had many friends and relatives in LaSalle who regret to hear of his passing. A retired farmer, the deceased resided in Catahoula Parish his entire life. He was born December 25, 1872. He was 74 years and 10 moths of age. Death came Saturday, October 19, 1946, at 2:45 a.m., at his residence in Jonesville. The deceased is survived by his wife, Rosie, three sons, Charlie, Willie and George, all of Jonesville; four daughters, Mrs. Jewell Wright, Mrs. Lessie Ford, Mrs. Lillie Cockerham, and Mrs. Bessie Brown, all of Jonesville; and one brother, Henry L. Smith, also of Jonesville. Rev. McNair of Jonesville Baptist Church conducted final rites. Hixson Bros., were in charge of funeral arrangements.
