V. Smith Mrs. Tiny Keene Smith, wife of A. V. Smith, of Jena, died in the Baptist Hospital at Alexandria Sunday, January 27, 1946, after a long illness. Mrs. Smith was the daughter of J. W. and Hattie Keene. She was born March 3, 1905, and was 41 years of age at the time of her death. The deceased was a lifelong resident of Jena, marrying Arthur Smith, March 10, 1923, after which the couple continued to reside here. Deceased was a member of the East Jena Baptist Church where funeral services were held at 3 p.m., Monday, January 28, 1946. Rev. Mayo and Rev. Walters conducted services. Interment was in the Hare Cemetery. Surviving are: her husband, A. V. Smith; one son, A. V. Smith, Jr., parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Keene, Jena; six brothers, Ellis, Cameron and Cecil Keene of Alexandria; Merlin, Jerome, and Walden Keene of Jena; and one sister, Audie Keene of Jena. Kinner & Stevens Home for Funerals had charge of arrangements.
