Headline:  Funeral Rites for Mother of Local School Supt. Held in Natchez Sun.

Mrs. Callie Shiel, 78, of Waterproof, La., died at 10:30 p.m., Friday.  She 
was the mother of F. H. Shiel, superintendent of LaSalle Parish schools.  
Funeral services were held at Foster's Funeral Home in Natchez, Miss., at 
2:20 p.m. Sunday.  Interment took place in the Natchez Cemetery.

Mrs. Shiel was born and reared in Mississippi but lived the last few years of 
her life in Waterproof.

She is survived by four daughters, Miss Ella Shiel of Natchez, Mrs. Effie 
Chambers of Waterproof, Mrs. C. B. Edwards of Lake Village, Ark., and Mrs. 
Betty Chaupaugh of California; four sons, Burke Shiel of West Monroe, C. C. 
Shiel, Dallas, Texas; George Shiel, Wesson, Miss., and F. H. Shiel of Jena; 
three brothers, one sister, and several grandchildren.
