He was a retired logger. Services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the chapel of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena with Revs. Grover Ganey and Don Wright, officiating. Burial followed at Hawthorne Cemetery of Little Creek under direction of Hixson Brothers, Inc., of Jena. Survivors include his wife, Beatrice Sanders of Little Creek, four daughters, Francis Tingle of Ohio, Alice Wright and Margie Prestridge, both of Georgetown, and Ada Sanders of Lafayette; two sons, Johnnie Sanders of Belle Chase and Bryan Sanders of Morgan City; 23 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Pallbearers were Barry Aultman, Paul H. Wright, Chancy Wright, George Woods, John Wright, and Doc Wright. Honorary pallbearers were Greg Wright, Jarrad Wright, and David Wright.
