Stone, 61, of Independence, Mo., died last Thursday at a Dallas hospital. He was born in Trout and has lived in Independence for the past 40 years. He retired in 1968 as owner and operator of the former Fred's Bar-B-Q in that city. He was a World War II Navy veteran. He was a member of the Mt. Washington Masonic Lodge. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Pauline Stone and a son, Michael F. Stone, both of Independence; a brother, Lynn L. Stone of Dallas; three sisters, Mrs. LaNell L. Morris of Austin, Texas, Mrs. Irma Lee Gough of Lake Charles and Mrs. Mary Moore of Jena. Services were held at 8 p.m. last Saturday night at the Carson Independence Chapel with Masonic services at 8:30 p.m. at the chapel. Graveside services were held on Sunday afternoon in Competition in Laclede County, Mo.
