All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Date: July 25, 1957 Headline: Marvin Sharp, 22, Killed in Accident, Buried at Pine Grove Funeral services for Marvin Sharp, 22, of Rhinehart, who was killed in an automobile accident Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock, were held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Oak Grove Baptist Church of Rhinehart. The Rev. Paul Nolan conducted the final rites, with interment following in the Pine Grove Cemetery of Rhinehart under the direction of Kinner and Stevens Home for Funerals of Jena. Officials who investigated the accident reported that Sharp's car skidded on the rain-slippery blacktop, went off an embankment and pinned him underneath the car. A companion who was with the youth at the time of the accident was not injured. Mr. Sharp is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ethel Sharp; two stepdaughters, Mary Alice and Brenda Jean Nugent; a stepson, Billy D. Nugent; his mother and father, Mr. and Mrs. Marcus Sharp of Rhinehart; three brothers, Monroe, Alton and Hubert, all of Rhinehart; and a sister, Mrs. Margie Odgen of Galveston, Texas.
