Headline:  Area Deaths

Gladys Ward Shelley, 76, of Jena, died Friday, January 7, 2000, at Rapids 
Regional Medical Center in Alexandria.

She was a retired head start teacher and a Baptist.

Services will be held at 1 p.m, Thursday, Jan. 13, at Mars Hill Baptist 
Church near Jena with Rev. Larry Shelley officiating.

Burial will follow in Webster Cemetery of Good Pine under direction of Gayden 
Funeral Home of Jena.

Survivors include one daughter, Sherrie Cain of Arlington, Tx.; five sons, 
Larry Shelley of Alexandria, Va.; Robert Shelley, Jr., of Oklahoma City, 
Okla.; Ronald Bruce Shelley of Euless, Tx.; Mikel Shelley of Midwest City, 
Okla.; and Phil Shelley of Oklahoma City, Okla; one brother, Leo Ward of 
Bellevue, Wash.; three sisters, Charlene Jones of Jena, Emra Loggins of Ft. 
Worth, Tx., and Jessie Williams of Fresno, Ca.; nine grandchildren and one 
great-grandchild.
