Stringer, 78, a Shreveport nurse for 20 years, died Sunday, Jan. 5 at 6:30 a.m. in a Baton Rouge hospital. Mrs. Stringer was retired and had lived in Baton Rouge for the past four years. She was a member of Mangham Methodist Church until she transferred her membership to First Methodist Church in Baton Rouge. She was a native Fordyce, Ark., and had lived in Good Pine and Trout about 25 years. Her husband was the late Walter T. Stringer who died in Good Pine in 1933. Services were held Monday, Jan. 6 at 3 p.m. in Benton Funeral Home Chapel of Fordyce, Ark., with the Rev. E. Sandel of Trout officiating, assisted by the Rev. Jimmy Tharpe of Shreveport. Burial was in Bearden, Ark. Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. C. O. Williams of Good Pine, Mrs. E. P. Ritter, Jr., of Baton Rouge, with home she lived, and Mrs. C. R. Cates of Shreveport; one son, Dale S. Stringer of Sacramento, Calif.; seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
