Stone) Val B. Stone (above), a native of Louisiana, but a resident of Texas since 1927, died suddenly at his home in Henderson, Texas, Oct. 15. Funeral services were held at the First Baptist Church in Henderson Thursday, Oct. 17, with interment following in Henderson Cemetery. Mr. Val B. Stone is survived by his wife, Mrs. Estelle Duncan Stone, one son, D. E. Stone; two daughters, Mrs. Annie Willis and Miss Helen Stone, all of Henderson, Texas; three brothers, Walter M. Stone of Jena, O. C. Stone of Houston, Texas, and F. H. Stone of Corpus Christi, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. Annie Wright and Mrs. Edith Evans, both of Jena, and four grandchildren. A successful business man, Mr. Stone was a rancher, oilman, and conducted a steel tank business. (NOTE: A picture of a very distinguished-looking Mr. Stone accompanied this obituary.
