H. (Jim) Sumrall, 80, of Jonesville died Thursday in the Catahoula Clinic after an illness of a few weeks. He was a member of the Wallace Ridge Baptist Church near Jonesville and had lived in that community for the past 50 years. He was a native of Waynesboro, Miss. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wallace Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. L. C. Coates officiating assisted by the Rev. C. B. Renfrow. Burial followed in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Ferriday. Survivors include one son, Marion V. (Dick) Sumrall of San Diego, Calif.; five daughters, Mrs. Ruby Wiggins, Mrs. Lucille Wiggins, and Mrs. Gaye Randall, all of Jonesville, Mrs. Lesie Morris of Harrisonburg, and Mrs. Eva Guillory of Shreveport; three brothers, George S. Sumrall of Tylertown, Miss., T. Y. Sumrall of Morgantown, Miss., J. E. Sumrall of Baton Rouge; four sisters, Mrs. Betty Sanderson of Waynesboro, Miss., Mrs. Jon McDuffey of New Roads, Mrs. Frank McDuffey of Pueblo, Colo., and Mrs. Carol Eubanks of Jena; 17 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
