Mr. Sones was born in Catahoula but has resided in LaSalle his entire lifetime. He was married in 1920 to Miss Cora Dunlap Guyon of Aimwell, who survives. He was a member of the Rosefield Baptist Church. Funeral services were held May 16 at the Rosefield Baptist Church at 3 p.m. with Rev. T. J. Ratcliff of Olla officiating. Interment took place at the Rosefield Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Upshaw Funeral Home of Jena. Surviving besides his widow are: J. F. of Hodge, H. J. and H. W. of Houston, Texas., W. T. of West Monroe and W. H. Sones of Rosefield, sons; Mrs. Mollie Green, Jena; Mrs. A. E. Chapman, Mrs. C. A. McGuffee and Mrs. R. D. McGuffee of Enterprise, Mrs. J. M. Rains of Shreveport and Mrs. W. A. Guyon of Rosefield, daughters, 6 stepchildren, 54 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were: John Richie, Dave Boothe, Gordon Hooter, Jim Rains, Coy Poole and Lem Guyon.
