Headline: David Brian Spears

David Brian Spears, 23, of Jonesville, died early Thursday morning, August 3,
2000, in a one car crash on La. 3101 west of Jonesville.

Spears was driving his 1996 Chevrolet Lumina south bound on La. 3101 when the
vehicle left the road and struck two trees. He was pronounced dead at the
scene by the Catahoula Parish Coroner's office.

He was a rig runner in the oil industry.

Services were held at 10 a.m., Saturday, August 5, at Mt. Hermon Baptist
Church on La. 28, with the Revs. Tinker Sanson, Walter Lloyd, and Jim Graham
officiating.

Interment followed in the Pine Grove Cemetery near Rhinehart under direction
of Hixson Brothers Funeral Home of Jena.

Survivors include his wife, Kelly Crooks Spears of Jonesville; His parents,
Rev. Samuel and Gina Renee Spears of Jonesville; one son, Cody Wayne Spears of
Jonesville; two brothers, Joshua Spears of Jena and Garrett Spears of
Jonesville; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. David Sanson of Jonesville;
paternal grandparents, Bob and Mary Elzie and Sam and Elvina Spears.

Pallbearers were Johnny cater, Derrick McDowell, Lee Merideth, Craig Bignar,
Mike Wilson and Greg Wilson.
