C. Sistrunk, Sr., 64 of Holly Ridge, died unexpectedly at his home of an apparent heart attack. He was the father of Coach Malvin Sistrunk of Jonesville, well known in the Jena area. Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Bethel Baptist Church at Holly Ridge with Brother James E. Watts and the Rev. Harold Spillers officiating. Burial was in Bethel Cemetery under direction of Rayville Funeral Service. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Lena Sistrunk of Holly Ridge; two sons, J. C. Sistrunk, Jr., of Rayville and Malvin Earl Sistrunk of Jonesville; four daughters, Mrs. Dorothy Stokes and Mrs. Shirley Thompson, both of Rayville; Mrs. Bernice Lowery of West Monroe and Mrs. Lois Robinson of Sterlington; three brothers, C. L. Sistrunk of Epps, Edward A. Sistrunk of Williamston, S. C. and C. C. Sistrunk, Jr., Pelzer, S. C.; two sisters, Mrs. C. S. Jarvis of Sarepta and Mrs. Paul Twiner of West Monroe, 15 grandchildren. Nephews served as pallbearers.
