Webb Tarver, of Near Sicily Island, Ends Life With Gun T. Webb Tarver, well known planter of the Sicily Island vicinity, in Catahoula Parish, committed suicide early this wek according to reports from the sheriff's office at Harrisonburg. Mr Webb was about 55 years old, a native of Mississippi, but had resided in Louisiana for a number of years, where he had built up the name of a successful planter. Recent financial troubles and considerable sickness in his family are the only reasons known that could have contributed to the rash action. Although the owner of a considerable property, it is said that he had been despondent recently and had confided in friends that he was in need of money, one witness testifying before the coroner's jury that he had expressed the desire to end it all, or words to that effect.
