Turner Dies at Home in Dry Prong Sunday, January 30 On January 30, 1938, at 6:30 a.m., James Riley Turner, father of J. A. Turner, died of dropsy. Mr. Turner, who was a farmer, died at his home at Dry Prong, La., where he had resided for fifty-five years and was buried at Oak Grove Cemetery January 31st, at 3:00 p.m. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge at Pollock and the Baptist Church at Bently, La. Mr. Turner is survived by the following: J. A. Turner, Jena, G. H. Turner, Dry Prong, C. J. Turner, Colfax, sons; Mrs. C. M. Fuller, Julia Turner, Dry Prong, daughters; A. D. Turner, Bentley, brother; Mrs. J. Cryer, Mrs. H. Smith, Dry Prong, sisters. Funeral services were conducted by Kinner and Stevens.
